You might see it in in front of a house on Halloween.
If you see a Jack-o'-Lantern in front of a house, it means welcome.

The Jack-o'-Lantern is a curved pumpkin which interior is hollow.
The Jack-o'-Lantern custom might comes from Irish folklore.
A farmer named Jack, who was infamous for being a trickster.
He tricked Satan into climbing a tree.
He curved a cross in the trunk of the tree, and then Satan was trapped up the tree.
He made a deal with Satan.
If the devil would never tempt him again, he would let the devil down the tree.
After Jack died, he was rejected to enter Heaven because of his behavior.
He was also rejected to enter Hell because he had tricked the devil.
However, the devil gave him a ember to light his way through darkness.
