America is a melting pot. You probably can hear at least two languages when you walk on the street, or you can see different racial people.

One of my friends even had said that he was motivated by the language diversity and wanted to pick up at least one other language beside English.

Then, one day in class, professor raised a question, which group of people only speaks one language?

The answer is Americans. Do you get it?

English is the most dominant language in the world. Journals, research paper and others are often written in English. Therefore, Americans have the privilege that they don’t need to learn a new language to get in touch with the world.

This situation mainly refers to Anglo-Saxon Americans. Other Americans, such as Chinese Americans, Japanese American and Mexican Americans, they are usually in a bilingual environment.
